The Old-New Synagogue in Prague's Jewish Quarter is one of the oldest and most valuable Jewish monuments in the world. It is the oldest surviving synagogue in Central Europe, the second oldest in the world, and the oldest still in use. It is also one of the first early Gothic buildings in Prague. It has been used for religious services continuously since the last quarter of the 13th century, with a brief exception during the occupation in 1942–45. The Old-New Synagogue, which has been a National Cultural Monument since 1995, is located on Červená Street. It is one of the most visited Czech monuments.
