What to Expect
Live Prague Blacksmith Experience!
The experience takes place in the central workshop, located near Wenceslas Square in Prague, and invites you to try your hand at metalworking — no prior experience needed.
During the workshop, a skilled blacksmith will guide you through each step of the forging process: heating steel, shaping it with hammer and anvil, hardening, finishing and sharpening. Depending on the selected experience, you may forge a knife, dagger, short sword or even a full medieval-style sword.
At the end of the course, you take home your own handmade piece — a functional, unique work forged by you with your own hands. All tools, materials and safety equipment are provided.
Choose between the following options:
- Hands-on Dagger Forging (Duration: approx. 8 hours)
Here you have a unique opportunity to try forging a dagger under the guidance of an experienced master blacksmith, who will take you through the entire process. You will not only gain an unforgettable experience but also leave with a real dagger – not just a decorative piece, but a genuine weapon for all lovers of historical fencing.
- Making a Viking sax or Bohemian fang (Duration: approx. 8 hours)
Awaken your inner blacksmith and, with the assistance of our experienced colleagues, set about forging a fully functional sword in the style of a Czech dagger or Viking sax right in the heart of Prague, the likes of which any medieval hero would envy!You’ll get hands-on with glowing steel, shaping it with a hammer, and trying your hand at hardening, grinding, and much more!
- Forging a Damascus Steel Knife (Duration: approx. 12 hours)
The art of forging layered steel has fascinated people since ancient times. This demanding technique was once mastered only by true masters of metal. It takes years to learn all the secrets of this craft — but with the help of our skilled blacksmiths, you can do it too!
- Crafting a Medieval Knight’s Sword! (Duration: 3 working days (total approx. 24 hours))
Trying your hand at blacksmithing and forging your own sword is a dream come true—and we’re here to help you make it happen!In our immersive blacksmith workshop, under the expert guidance of a seasoned swordsmith, you’ll craft your very own, one-of-a-kind sword. A sword ready to charge into battle and destined to become your personal symbol—admired not only by friends and family, but also future generations who may one day hold it in their hands.
You’ll learn to work with glowing steel, shape the crossguard, prepare the handle, and much more. Throughout the entire course, you’ll be mentored by our professional blacksmith and history enthusiast, whose passion for crafting and studying historical weapons is truly infectious.Due to the complexity of the final product, this course is spread over multiple days. To ensure the best results, it is necessary to complete one of our previous blacksmithing experiences.

- All materials and equipment are included
We do recommend wearing work or casual clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and sturdy, closed-toe shoes. Please avoid synthetic clothing (like nylon), as it doesn’t offer enough protection when working with heat. A changing room is available on-site.
