Do not let the name fool you — Prague’s New Town was founded back in the 14th century. It was King Charles IV himself who decided to create this grand new district of Prague. Over the centuries, its appearance has changed, and today the streets and squares of New Town beautifully combine different eras and styles.
Here you will discover Gothic towers, historic churches and palaces, elegant Prague passages from the late 19th century with glass roofs and colourful mosaics, the stunning Jerusalem Synagogue — also called the Jubilee Synagogue — from the early 20th century, and even bold modern sculptures created by contemporary artists. And all of this is part of Prague’s New Town.
So much to discover awaits you
You will walk through the famous Wenceslas Square and have the chance to visit the National Museum, the largest museum in the Czech Republic. You will also see the monument to Saint Wenceslas, one of the main symbols of Czech history and national identity.
You will stroll through the famous Prague passages, the Rococo and Lucerna Palace Passage, where you will discover the unusual sculpture “The Upside-Down Horse” — a man sitting on the belly of a horse hanging upside down from the ceiling. Can you guess who the rider is?
You will learn how the story of the Franciscan Garden began, while the Adria Palace will surprise you with its remarkable sculptural decoration.
You will visit the Church of Our Lady of the Snows and finally discover why the Madonna is called “of the Snows.”
You will find out where the enormous medieval moat protecting the Old Town once stood — and what this street is called today.
You will also see the Estates Theatre, where Mozart celebrated one of the greatest triumphs of his life after the premiere of Don Giovanni.
And finally, the beautiful Jerusalem Synagogue, the Powder Tower, the Municipal House (Obecní dům), and the Hybernia Theatre will complete your impression of the beauty and unique atmosphere of central Prague.
Interesting facts and mysteries of the tour
The story of human jealousy is as old as the world itself…
And now, a Mozart concert in 21st-century Prague is in danger of being cancelled!
Prague is celebrating — the city is once again preparing to welcome the great Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Everything seems just as it was in the 18th century: the composer himself, his charming wife Constanze, and the audience of the Estates Theatre eagerly awaiting another musical triumph.
But something has gone terribly wrong — the musical score has disappeared.
Was it simply the carelessness of a genius, or the result of envy and intrigue?
Through riddles, puzzles, and interactive challenges, you will help Mozart recover the missing notes. At stake is not only a unique concert, but also the reputation of the great composer himself.
