What to Expect
The new version of VIVALDIANNO, subtitled THE SHOW, surpasses the visual style of previous projects City of Mirrors and Reloaded. Comments Michal Dvořák, author of the project and famous Czech musician, producer and composer. “The incredible atmosphere of Venice full of lights that we have managed to create in this version will give the audience even stronger experience than the previous versions of the show and perfectly illustrate the story and music of Antonio Vivaldi. Antonio was very innovative and modern in his time. THE SHOW strives for up-to-date technical and visual innovation as Vivaldi himself might have done if he lived in our time. We try to enhance his musical emotions with contemporary means of expression, modern choreography and stage design with absolute respect for his work.” VIVALDIANNO is a concert with a story dedicated to the baroque genius Antonio Vivaldi. The libretto was written by lyricist, playwright and screenwriter Tomáš Belko.
Please note that the performance is not accompanied by classic subtitles, as you are used to, but by an original English commentary, which you can listen to in your headphones using our app on your mobile phone. We therefore recommend you bring your headphones and download the app as soon as you arrive at the theatre, our auditorium staff will be happy to help you with everything.
Plus, the commentary for this unique show is narrated by Pierce Brosnan, Hollywood star and 007 agent, as the narrator and the voices of other famous stars. In the Czech language, you can hear the captivating voice of famous Czech actor Jiří Dvořák. The other roles were played by Pavla Tomicová, Petr Štěpánek, Vilma Cibulková and Monika Timková. International guests will be able to listen to the English version using the Cinewav app, which can synchronise the spoken word with the live music production. The project has been newly adapted for the Hybernia Theatre under the direction of Michal Dvořák, co-author, producer and member of the LUCIE group, among others.
In the new version VIVALDIANNO THE SHOW, which had a premiere on March 31, 2023, the most significant Czech soloists were confirmed. Let’s name few of the main stars: Jiří Vodička, violin virtuoso and concertmaster of the Czech Philharmonic, multi-genre cellist Terezie Kovalová and solo violinist Martina Bačová. With a magical blend of string quartet, electric and acoustic guitars, samplers and synthesizers, percussion, ethnic instruments and sound effects, the show has a strong art-rock vibe. The concept of this 3D concert show blurs the differences between cultures and creates a “show without borders” that appeals to both Czech and foreign audiences of all generations.
